Building on the success of our previous events in 2020 and 2022, we are proud to collaborate once again with Ing. Ivan Scicluna to offer this specialised course for architects and design professionals to learn the basics in acoustics. This course provides valuable insights into the principles of acoustics, helping industry experts tackle acoustic challenges in various settings.

Participants will gain knowledge on key topics, including sound principles, acoustic treatment, soundproofing, vibration control, and the selection of materials to minimize ambient noise. This course is an invaluable resource for professionals looking to enhance their skills in managing acoustics in different environments.

Every Monday from 7th October to 4th November.

Time: 15:30 – 18:30hrs
Location: Vivendo, Mdina Road, Qormi

Each module is designed to build on the previous one, making it highly recommended to attend all 5 sessions.

The course has no prerequisites other than the ability to interpret graphs. It’s delivered in English and doesn’t involve complex formulas or mathematics.

Participants who attend all sessions will receive an attendance certificate.

Ivan Scicluna, B.Elec.Eng.(Hons.), Acoustics Engineer

With a career spanning 30 years, Ing. Ivan Scicluna is an electrical engineer specialising in structural acoustics and audio engineering. After working in Germany for several years, he now consults in Malta in acoustic treatment, soundproofing and vibration control.

€150 inc vat for 5 sessions.

Your course fee will be donated towards acoustic products for a CSR-related project, which will be announced at a later stage. In the 2022 Acoustics Course, the funds were used to furnish the understage of the newly renovated Teatru Salesjan in Sliema, utilising Rockfon® Color-all™.
