An event with insight and connection
An exclusive gathering with Raphael Gielgen and Vitra at MICAS and University of Malta.
On Wednesday 12th November, Vivendo brought together Malta’s architecture and design community for an inspiring evening at MICAS – Malta International Contemporary Art Space. As part of our annual event series dedicated to industry professionals, this year’s gathering featured a special guest: Raphael Gielgen, Trendscout for the Future of Work at Vitra.
Through his keynote presentation, Work Panorama 2025, Raphael shared a decade of global insights drawn from over 100 organisations worldwide. His panorama offered far more than data; it served as a compass for navigating the cultural, technological and societal shifts redefining our workplaces.
The evening began with an optional architectural tour of MICAS, followed by Raphael’s thought- provoking presentation exploring how design can respond to the evolving landscape of work. His perspective challenged us to think beyond today’s constraints and consider how we might create environments that are adaptable, inclusive, purposeful and ready for what lies ahead.

Following the keynote, guests gathered for networking and conversation over drinks allowing for meaningful dialogue and connection.

The collaboration extended into the following morning, Thursday 13th November, when Raphael joined M.Arch and M.Eng Year 2 students at the University of Malta’s Department of Architecture and Urban Design. In their design studio, he engaged with students developing their Final Projects under the theme Embracing Dystopia; investigating Malta’s complex challenges through design and engineering proposals that address uncertainty, scarcity and instability. His insights from his research on innovation, adaptability and foresight offered valuable perspective for their forward-thinking work.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and to Vitra for their collaboration in making these two sessions possible. Events like these remind us why we do what we do: to foster community, spark inspiration and explore together how design shapes the spaces where we work, collaborate and connect.
