The Embassy Valletta Hotel
The Embassy Valletta Hotel is a landmark transformation project, where a former cinema block was reimagined into a vibrant boutique-style hotel in the heart of Malta’s capital. Featuring 80 guest rooms, a rooftop pool and a fully equipped conference room, the hotel blends heritage with contemporary design to create a distinctive urban retreat.
Delivering this project during the pandemic came with unique challenges for Vivendo. Valletta’s narrow grid-like streets required careful planning, with special permits secured for night-time deliveries, 4am crane lifts and the transfer of furniture from large containers outside the city into smaller trucks that could access the city centre. Moreover, with the site being adjacent to the courthouse, logistics often meant working around restricted access and adapting daily. Despite limitations on staffing and health restrictions, our team remained efficient, coordinated and solution-focused throughout.

Careful planning in the city
Our scope spanned across guest rooms, corridors, the gym, conference space, the restaurant and the lobby. We crafted customised wall panelling in the hotel rooms, wardrobes and decorative booths, and provided everything from restaurant tables and corridor consoles to cushions, curtains, mirrors and wall art. Outdoor areas were equally considered, with durable galvanised chairs, sunbeds and bespoke rooftop bar booths, all designed to withstand the elements while enhancing guest comfort.

Prior to execution, we developed a sample room to refine every aspect of design and finish – ensuring confidence, clarity and a seamless rollout across the hotel.
