In changing times, such as those of the past three years, the demands we make of our homes and furniture can adapt and vary. No one understood this better than French ‘constructeur’, architect and designer Jean Prouvé. Born in 1901, Prouvé lived through two world wars and responded to the challenges of his era by developing a new ‘constructional philosophy’. Based on the principle of rational fabrication, he designed hard-wearing furniture free of artifice and buildings that could be dismantled, modified and transported.
We cordially invite you to an exhibition dedicated to the work of Jean Prouvé. Rediscover his story as one of the most significant architects of the 20th century, his approach to designs, structures and materials, and his sensitivity to colour.
Stine Liv Buur has been working for Vitra since 2013 and holds the position of Design Manager Classics, responsible for the classics collection development and collaboration with the classic designer families, such as the daughter of Jean Prouvé, Catherine Prouvé, who today is also a friend of her.
