Project Quantity & Cost Officer – Full Time

Role Overview

The Project Quantity and Cost Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the commercial accuracy, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of  projects. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, suppliers, and clients to manage cost estimations, budgets, and material requirements across office and hospitality furnishing projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project plans and specifications to prepare accurate quantity and cost requirements.
  • Analyse maintenance, material, and labour costs, and review contracts to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Liaise with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to coordinate project logistics and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Prepare detailed reports, cost analyses, budgets, risk assessments, and contractual documents.
  • Monitor budgets and document any design or scope changes with corresponding financial updates.
  • Place and track orders for required materials and furnishings in line with project timelines and budget allocations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm lead times, delivery schedules, and pricing.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in cost estimation, preferably within construction or project-based environments (interiors/furniture experience is a plus).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and project workflows.
  • A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, although not mandatory, will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with strong planning and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in Excel and relevant project/costing software.
  • Attention to detail with a methodical and structured approach to work.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
